Created in 2006, today the Institute’s major supporters include organizations such as William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Oak Foundation, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Instituto Clima e Sociedade (ICS), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), as project funder. The IEMA’s mission is to contribute to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policies aimed at improving conditions of mobility and air quality in urban centers, and to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, particularly in the transportation and energy sectors.
