Classic monument of redenção and of Porto Alegre. It honors the Brazilian soldiers that fought in the world War II. It is usually the most crowded area of the park, and it is right near the farmers and antiques market on the weekends. Definitely recommend visiting. The only con is that it could be more clean.

Interesting Historical Monument. In honor of those who fought in WWII. Plates on the Monument mark the dates of expeditions in Italy. Towards the end of WWII the Brazilian forces known as FEB and their motto "the snake is going to smoke" helped drive the remaining Nazis forces out of Italy.
