I think this is a great monument! Sculpted beautifully. But what many tourists don't know is that the monument has been the subject of criticism for neglecting the darker side of the bandeirantes, who killed and enslaved many of the indigenous peoples of Brazil. I think it's important to find all the context to the monument. But I still think it's very well done. :) :I

Great monument, many details and great for photos. If you go there, make sure to go on a sunny day during the sunset.

Take the time to walk around the statue and observe each figure and the symbolism they represent. Pushing the load at the back of the monument is an African as one example. This is a great tribute and piece of sculpture to commemorate the 17th century ‘colonisers’ of Brazil.

Terrific tourist spot. Great photo opportunity. There’s a huge city park across the street and I recommend you take some time to go and explore the park. While we were there we rented bicycles and drove around the park and enjoy the sights and the shade of the beautiful trees. There were lots of vendors in the park to get snacks and to stop along the water and watch dogs and other birds in the water. I felt very safe in this park and did not feel like I had to watch my back like I do and maybe other parks in Brazil. I would absolutely go back and spend more time in this area. It is in a very nice area of the city and you can walk to amazing shops and boutiques just down the street.

Really beautiful monument, an emblem of the city. Easu to get there by bus or subway or even it's a nice walk all the way on Ibirapuera avenue. Very recommendable to visit
