This is probably one of the best views of Rio, though you get more of a coastal than a city view because of the location. However, it is a higher vantage point than all other touristic sites. The trial up to the top is quite long and can be crowded on weekends: bring plenty of water/fluids, light food, and good/comfortable shoes. When you’re about 30 minutes from the too, you’ll reach the infamous Carrasqueira; a wall of steep rocks you’ll have to climb (and descend on the way down, don’t forget). It’s definitely doable without ropes or equipment if you are in good shape, aren’t afraid of heights, and are confident about your physical abilities. HOWEVER, because of how crowded it can be, and to feel at ease/safe, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND hiring a guide (or two, depending on the size of your group) that has ropes, hooks, and harnesses. Your experience will be very different and you’ll be able to enjoy what you actually went for... . Estimate time to top with low traffic: 2.5 - 3 hrs at a steady fast pace / normal traffic and with stops along the way: up to 5 hrs to the top.

Stunning views. It is a tough hike, and you will need to climb the wall but there are people who can help by providing harness and ropes (very helpful especially on the way back). For the rest, one of the best experiences in my life!

Spectacular views, but challenging hike of 3 hours to get there. Wear some good shoes and carry enough water with you!

One of the most amazing features of Rio de Janeiro is this rock face (world's largest) that grew straight up, out of the ocean. My picture here was taken from the Pier at Praia do Pepe.

The best trail with all emotions at once. Worthy to go.

Don't go if you're afraid of heights and don't go by yourself if you have no experience with climbing.

Excelent trail in Rio de Janeiro, you'll need an autorized guide to get to the top for a perfect view of Rio. This trekking is considered dangerous, you may get lost if you don't know the right path and you'll also find a dead zone warning sign before climb the rocks. You'll need the right equipment helmet, harness and a rope for climbing and descent. This trekking is not recommended for solo travelers. The View of the city worths the journey.

Amazing view. There are 2 routes. The P4 is the most beautiful. Both of them leads to the top. It is not easy but it worth.
