Nature always gets 5/5 star ratings. Be careful on the hike though as there are snakes, I didn't see any on my way and I did try to keep quiet while walking through the trail - this is advised. The climb is a rapid ascension and it would take about an hour before you reach the first peak. Thereafter you can take the cable car to the second peak.

It's a really nice hike. It starts next to the beach (in one of the safest areas of Rio, due to being surrounded by lots of military buildings), and then it's a decent 40 minute hike up to the top. You go through the trees, but the majority of the hike is on steps, so nothing too wild. You may see monkeys along the way, which are super cute, but they're not a natural species, so you're advised not to feed them. The exit closes at 18:00, and the sun goes down at 17:20 (now, in July), so plan your descent accordingly. Going down the trail in the dark is not much fun, even with a torch. If in doubt, take the cable car down (costs around R30 or 7) The view from the top of the hike is spectacular, and well worth. Enjoy.

Nice beautiful easy trail. Good place to see the sunset (at the top of the trail).

as an alternative to the cable car, you can hike to Morro da Urca. The path leads through the jungle and offers great views. We also saw some monkeys

It is a more difficult trail, blue square (based on IMBA Trail Difficulty Rating System). It is not recommend during rain or the day after. Descent may be more challenging for some knees, but there is an option to buy a cable car ticket for the descent leg only. Trail takes you to Morro da Urca with some great views of the bay and the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Access through Cláudio Coutinho trail, that is very nice of its own and offers breathtaking views for the less physically inclined.

Beautiful trail. It is steep so try to tke heed and give yourself plenty of time and bring water.

A very fun and short hiking track, that leads to one of the most iconic sights in the world. The track itself can be done in approximately 30 minutes, it's always uphill, so stretch your legs and be ready to it, but there's a bunch of stairs on the way, making it easier to finish. You should avoid going if it's raining or rained on the prior night, it could be way too slippery. If you get too tired to go the way back by the track, you can buy the ticket back by the cable car for about R40.
